Slide Transition Tutorial

 Trending Smooth Slide Transition Tutorial

                         Slide Transition

In this tutorial i'm going to show you how to make a smooth sliding transition inside, of Alight Motion  my name is Rc and i do weekly Alight Motion and filmmaking tutorials so make sure to subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss out on future videos.

I got two clips on the timeline and i really want to transition, from this clip right here and into the next clip with it sliding this way so the first thing we need to do is to drag this first clip that we are transitioning, from up to video track number two and then you can select how long you want the transition to be.

so i really want to start around here i think and then i can drag the second clip that we are going to transition, to under the first clip so now we have these two clips stacked together and then i'm going to select the eraser tool by hitting c on my keyboard and i'm going to make a cut right here at the first clip and i'm also going to make a second cut at the second clip .

So now we have sectioned off these two clips right here then we can go and select the first clip that we are transitioning, from and we're going to work inside of effect controls so i'm going to put my playhead at the beginning of the clip and i'm going to make a keyframe so i'm going to make a keyframe for position and i'm going to go forward in the clip and make another keyframe

so i'm just going to drag this to the side and i just want this clip to be slightly off to the side right here just so we don't see it anymore then i'm going to drag this last keyframe, all the way to the end of the clip so now it will look something, like that this looks a little bit weird so we are going to make this other clip slide at the same speed at the first clip so first we need to hide this first clip and we can hide this video track number two by clicking the toggle track output and then it disappears then we can select the second clip.

we're going to make some keyframes on this clip as well so let's move the playhead to the beginning of the clip and then we're going to toggle a keyframe and we're just going to drag this all the way to the other side so we are slightly off screen then i'm going to move my playhead, to almost the end of the clip again and i'm going to drag this until we have it in the same place that it should be and then i want to drag this last keyframe up there as well i'm also going to add some blur but let's see how it looks so now we just have this simple little slide transition but i'm going to add some blur so the first thing we need to do is to go down here and select new adjustment layer,

when you get this box here you just click ok and inside of the project bin we have this adjustment layer so i'm just going to drag this on top of both of the clips and i'm just going to trim it so it fits on the transition right here and then we're going to search for effect right here called the directional blur and you'll find that in the video effects blur and sharpen folder and you have the directional burr right here so let's drag that on top of our adjustment layer and then i'm going to go to the beginning of the clip right here.

i'm going to set the values in the directional, blur to 90 degrees so that is horizontal and then we can increase the blur and this is something you can decide how much blur or not you want but i think i'm going to go around 30 and if you play this back right now this is how it looks but if this is too slow for you i will show you how you can make this go faster so to make this go faster we can simply, select all of the clips that are in this slide transition section and we can right click and nest it so click the nest button right there and click ok and then we can go over here and use the rate stretch tool or you can just click r on your keyboard and this will allow you to adjust how fast this section of the transition

So let's say i want to make this double as fast i could just drag this and then we can put this first clip on there and make sure we delete this and when we play this back right now we got a faster transition on the screen right now we got another video for you to watch next and if you haven't yet make sure to subscribe, and hit the bell thank you so much for watching create an inspire and i will see you in the next video

 Candy Style Transition

                          Soft edit Project file

Hi Guy's with Candy Style transitions, they're a really effective way to make your video feel a lot more cohesive and professional and if you're watching this video I'm pretty sure you've been exposed to a lot of transition packs, and tutorials on how to get those awesome totally cool transitions but today we're gonna be showing you how to create for super simple transitions right inside of Alight Motion.

These are so simple that maybe you'll start to incorporate them into your regular workflow and we're going to avoid transitions, that have gotten a lot of love maybe too much love from the internet so no zoom blurs hopefully you haven't seen all of these before so let's dive right into it with number, one the card whip this one you might have seen in some of our other tutorials in the past your at motion array,

it's just like treating your footage like a set of stacked cards and when you want to move on to the next one so once you've got your footage down, on the timeline place your first clip on the second layer and your second clip on the first layer like a descending staircase next overlap them, slightly and on your top clip drop on the transform effect from your effects panel.

once it's here find where you want the transition to happen and keyframe, your position at the start of the transition now move to where you want the transition to finish and keyframe, the position to have your footage completely off screen you'll probably only need a few frames to make this look right make sure that at all times between these two keyframes there's a piece of footage overlapping underneath, this top clip then click this drop down and activate the graph for your motion and keyframes.

So now we can set a position keyframe, where we want these clips to start separating and then make a second keyframe and set it to be just off-screen, then by using these back and forward icons for our keyframe we can bring the playhead back to exactly the same location to make matching but opposite keyframes, for our bottom clip so now we have a linear separation but I want to make it a little bit more dynamic bring up the positions.

Alight Motion but like I mentioned, if you want to take your transitions to the next level we have tons of transitions for you to check out here at motion, or Raycom we also have a ton of Alight Motion plug-in transitions that you can download at no additional cost to an existing paid motion or a membership and finally if more learning is your cup of tea we've also got loads of other tutorials for Alight Motion, and After Effects feel free to check those out too but that's it for me thank you so much for watching and I can't wait to see you in the next video you.

Alight Motion Transition Preset Pack

December 12, 2021 0

  Transition Preset Pack

if you're making here in this video we're going to show you how to make a hard transition inside of Alight Motion because very soon it's Valentine's Day, and this would be a nice effect to use for that and of course for like weddings and other kind of romantic videos this would be a nice simple effect or a transition, to make so we are going to use the pen tool here to actually draw a heart.

I'm going to show you a simple way to do it so inside of your previous screen here we're going to hold down, and drag this out in this direction and then press here once and then one up the opposite side here below and then press here, once here also drag this out and then back to this we also gone to drag this out of course this doesn't look like a pretty heart but this is a start or a nice starting point so from here we can move these about and fine-tune the shape a little bit more and it's actually quite simple to fine-tune it to get this to a more yeah proper heart shape so this that small inwards.
so we're pretty close here and just too much okay so this for me looks like really close I think this might go a little bit more down and that was I think pretty, much it so for me this looks fine yeah you could use a of course an image to trace a heart but this is a very simple way to actually draw heart let's select this and drag, this to the middle so when those two red lines appears the shape is fully in the middle and one thing we notice this anchor point is not in the middle,
so we're going to drag this and move this into the middle also the reason for that if we're going to scale this heart for the transition, it would cause a weird effect if the center or the anchor port is not in the middle so we are now going to move this to here and I think I want this effect, to be a full second so the heart shape is much more visible because if it's like a really like 15 frames it would be so fast that your eyes would not even register that there was a heart shape coming past.

so we're here between the two clips or we're going to hold on shift arrow down to go in between, the two clips now hold down shift and arrow to the left five times for 25 frames because I'm on a 25 frame timeline or 25 pal so that's why for me is that is one second so hold on shift arrow to the left 5 times 1 2 3 4 5 and now we're going to drag this heart over here this clip over here and I'm going to arrow down once to jump here to cut this clip here so we can drag down so it doesn't interfere, and this one can make it short turn it like this and now we are going to add keyframes to the heart we're going to move all the way to the front here scale this down to 0 press this stopwatch to add a keyframe and now.
we're going to make this all the way big until it fills the screen sure just fill the screen and now direct this keyframe, all the way to the end now when we play this you can see this heart coming out and maybe if you find it still too fast and you want it to be slower we can make it a little bit more with a badger at the beginning,

so it's much slower showing you a small heart instead off and then speed up for the bigger size Oh like this drag this out and now we can see it's slowly comes in like a small heart and then that quickly becomes, really big that makes it more visible to see that small heart and also like this is quite similar to like a Batman logo effect and you could add the sound effect, of like so that would be like a Batman kind of a effect so now we of course we're going to make sure that this cuts out the image or the video behind it.

so we are going to effect, and now we're going to use inside of the video effects we go to keying and then use track mat key get this onto the clip here and go to FX control and we're going to choose at Matt choose video 3 where the graphics is so now when we play this we see this hard transition, so see this cut out of heart and then transition it so it's a very simple transition, and hope you guys found this very useful and if you want to see more upcoming videos please hit that subscribe button here below and also make sure it hit that bye account so you're always updated when I post a new video thank you guys for watching, and I'll see you next time bye bye

Ae Inspired Transition Xml Download

                     Ae Inspired Transition

Introduction:

Today we'll be showing you how to create a slide transition, in Alight Motion alright so that looks pretty cool let's have a look on how to create this and get started if you enjoy my videos be sure to hit the subscribe button, and hit about icon to make sure that you get notified, when I upload new videos alright here we are an Alight Motion and let's take a look on how to create that slide effect in Alight Motion.

TI Have two video files right here which you can actually download with the link in the description.

Slide Transition:

if you want to follow along with the same footage I will drag this into a new sequence right here, actually bring it into my slide effect video 1 and video 2 so what you can do to create a slide effect is actually trim your video like this and bring them together go to effects go to video transitions, and slide push and apply to push effect right here now it's going to push the video like this you can of course trim it make it a little bit shorter and you have a slide effect for some people this works but for me it doesn't do it because it's a very linear movement, meaning that from the first frame it's actually going to have a constant speed until the end so it's going to be very abrupt it's not going to have a flow to it.

so I  don't really like it so what I will do is delete my push effect and yeah make my videos as long as I can again there I go so what I will do is go to the end of my first video and go ten frames backwards so with the left arrow on the keyboard, we have one two three four five six seven eight nine and 10 we can bring the second video on top of it on a new layer and just let it meet together.

so now we have a tenth frame overlap of our videos so now I'll go to my first video and where the second video actually start we're going to effect controls, right here and click on the stopwatch for a position of our first video then a little bit further away.

Keyframes:

so we're going to start off here so we're going one frame backwards and then just move it to the left until it's off-screen again there we go so we can drag this keyframe all the way to the beginning and now we're going to have a very linear animation just like the push effect that we're used to now what I want to do is click on my first video and select both of these keyframes and what we're going to do now is right click temporal interpolation and change it to a Bezier this is going to make it a lot smoother a lot more flow on going on here.

we go so now we have a very ramping up animation so it's going to start off slow speed up to let's max speed and then slowly comes to stop again we're going to do the same thing for the second video so click on it select all of the keyframes right click temporal interpolation this year we're going to open up the arrow right here and do the same thing again there.

Layer:

I'm going to click on a new item so on this icon and create a new adjustment layer, click OK and drag this adjustment layer on top of your video right here now go to the effects and go to video effects, right here blur and sharpen and apply a directional blur, to that adjustment layer go to the center of the adjustment layer so that's at a 5 frame overlap of the videos below it,

Conclusion:

so alright that's it for this video I hope you enjoyed it if you did give it this video a like and definitely subscribe to the channel for more and also check out our website we have a bunch to offer and if you buy something from our website it helps to support the channel so I'll see you in the next one and good bye.
